Consult the Preparing For Your Motorcycle Trip section for a list of recommended pharmaceuticals. This list of basics does not in any way replace that of a professional and may not be adapted to your medical condition. If you have a medical history, caution should be exercised because the quality of health care in India is highly variable depending on the regions visited, and sometimes almost non-existent in the most remote areas.
The websites of the World Health Organization offers recommendations and a list of mandatory vaccines.
Acute Mountain Sickness is the enemy of our travels in the Himalayas, particularly in Ladakh. Our routes are built respecting the altitude levels and favoring progressive climbs, with a limited time spent at high altitude (crossing passes). Well aware of its symptoms (headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, insomnia, etc.) and their consequences, our team and your Tour Leader are there to ensure a successful acclimatization. Drink lots of water, eat garlic, chew coca leaves, limit alcohol and too much physical effort. If necessary, we are equipped with oxygen bottles in the assistance vehicle following the group. Check with your doctor, and have a suitable medication prescribed for you if necessary.
For trips to Kinnaur and Ladakh, we need a medical certificate stating that you are in good health for the practice of motorcycling at altitude.
