- Passport, with an expiry date of more than 7 months from the date of entry into the country.
- A visa to enter the country
- Travel insurance: this must cover local medical fees and repatriation. (Check that the insurance covers the planned activities: motorbike and off-road).
- Copy of airline ticket.
- The international licence required in India :
Riders from UK can obtain the permit from any post office. Riders from the US can obtain the permit from any AAA office. Other riders, please check with your government to determine the procedure in your country.
We remind you that only the international license is recognized in India: it must be presented with your driving license from your home country so ensure you bring both. We will need the copy of the first page in order to check the validity, but also of the inner page where the stamps are.
Indian e-Visa Requirements
The Indian e-visa is issued entirely online. You do not need to travel to an embassy or mail in your physical passport.
📅 When to Apply
Processing times can increase during peak season. We highly recommend booking your flights first, then applying based on your visa type:
- 1-Year e-Visa: You can apply as soon as your flights are booked (provided your departure is within the next 365 days).
- 30-Day e-Visa: Important! This application can only be submitted between 1 month and 3 weeks prior to your arrival in India, not earlier.
⚠️ Essential Passport Guidelines
To avoid any boarding or immigration issues, please ensure the following:
- Exact Name Match: Your e-visa must display all names exactly as they appear on your passport (including maiden names, names of use, "EP. MARTIN", widower status, etc.). These will be strictly checked.
- Passport Numbers: Double-check that the passport number on your approved visa perfectly matches your current passport.
- Passport Renewal: If you have to renew your passport after your visa has already been issued, you must travel with both your old and new passports.
💻 How to Submit Your Application
You can complete the process independently directly on the official Indian Government Website.
📌 Note on Local Contact: The official form requires details of a contact person on-site in India. Please reach out to your travel advisor, who will gladly provide you with these local coordinates.
🚨 New Mandatory Requirement: e-Arrival Card
Since October 1st, 2025, India has officially replaced the traditional paper immigration form with a digital e-Arrival Card.
- When to complete it: This form must be filled out online within 72 hours before your arrival in India.
- Who needs it: Every traveler. Even if your e-Visa has already been approved, you are still required to complete this step.
- How to do it: * If you haven't applied for your e-Visa yet, you can complete the e-Arrival Card during the visa application process, or immediately after it gets approved.
- You can fill out the form on the Official Government Website or via the official mobile app: Indian Visa Su-Swagatam.
Tip: set a reminder in your calendar 72h before your arrival in India so you don’t forget.
