🌄 Kyrgyzstan’s climate is dry continental and strongly shaped by altitude. Weather conditions can shift quickly, particularly in mountain areas. Most of our trips take place during the summer season:
Summer Rides (June to September departures): Temperatures average 25–35°C in valleys and main cities (such as Bishkek), and 15–22°C at mid-altitude. High up in the mountains (around Song-Kul Lake or over 3,000-meter passes), days remain comfortable (10–18°C), but temperatures plunge as soon as the sun goes down, often dipping close to freezing (0°C). While summer is mostly dry, brief afternoon showers or storms can happen.
For these trips, the three-layer system is a must: bring light, breathable base layers for hot days, a warm fleece or down jacket for cool nights and high passes, plus windproof and waterproof outerwear to deal with sudden shifts in weather.
