To make the most of your adventure, it's essential to prepare all the necessary documents before you leave. Here's the list of documents you'll need to leave with peace of mind:
- Passport: must have an expiry date of at least 7 months from the date of entry into the country, and include at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
- Travel insurance, in case of repatriation, medical expenses or cancellation of your trip. Check that your insurance covers motorcycling.
- Copy of plane ticket to organize your transfers
- International driving license: The international license must be presented with your national license. So remember to bring both. We will need a copy of the first page to check validity, as well as the inside page with the stamps.
You need a visa to enter Madagascar. There are two ways to obtain one depending on your nationality:
- On arrival at the airport: A short-stay visa can be issued directly on arrival. However, there may be a queue at customs and immigration, and there is a risk of refusal to issue a visa on arrival, which is not 100% guaranteed.
- Online or at the embassy before you leave. Applying for an e-visa before you leave will save you time at the airport. However, check the Embassy's website for your personal situation.
For further information, please consult the website of your home country Embassy in Madagascar.
