Health Tips

Consult the "Preparing for your motorcycle trip" section for a list of recommended pharmaceuticals. This list of basics does not in any way replace that of a professional and may not be adapted to your medical condition. If you have a medical history, caution should be exercised because depending on the isolation of certain regions, the quality of health care may not be comparable to that of your country of origin.

The websites of the World Health Organization offers recommendations and a list of mandatory vaccines.

Acute Mountain Sickness is the enemy of our travels in the Himalayas, especially in Mustang. Our routes are built respecting the altitude levels and favoring progressive climbs, with a limited time spent at high altitude (crossing passes). Well aware of its symptoms (headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, insomnia, etc.) and their consequences, our team and your Tour Leader are there to ensure a successful acclimatization.

If necessary, we are equipped with oxygen bottles in the assistance vehicle following the group. Check with your doctor, and have a suitable medication prescribed for you if necessary.

For Nepal, we need a medical certificate stating that you are in good health for the practice of motorcycling at altitude.

It is always useful to provide some pharmaceutical basics in the suitcase.

Bring sunscreen, lipbalm, paracetamol, an anti-diarrheal, disinfectant, plasters/bandages, and an elastoplast adhesive tape. These are essential to address minor ailments, sores and scrapes.

This list of basics does not in any way replace the advice of a professional and should be adapted as required to suit your medical condition. If you have a medical history, caution should be exercised as the healthcare systems of the countries visited do not always equal those in your home country. We advise you to visit your personal doctor before departure; they can help you personalize your first aid kit for the trip.
