When traveling to Nepal, you are subject to Nepalese laws and their restrictions. Certain objects such as satellite phones, drones, etc. are subject to regulations under penalty of a fine. If you have any doubts as you're packing your bags, it pays to do a little research. Know before you go!
Standard French outlets are used in Nepal. Riders from other countries may require an adapter. The telephone network is generally good except in Mustang. Electricity and hot water are available in most areas but may not be reliable, especially in the more remote parts of Mustang. Generators are used to compensate for the poor electrical network during cuts, but they are often started up sporadically and sometimes turned off at night.
WIFI is available in most hotels except Mustang. For those who must stay connected, we advise you to pick up a sim card when you arrive at the airport.
We advise you to visit the website of the US State Department or gov.uk website which provides travel advice for Nepal. You will find general recommendations according to the areas visited but also current information which may be useful. For riders from other countries, please consult with your local government for the most current travel information.
