How can we help?

Documents Requirements

  • Passport, expiring at least 6 months after entry into the country.
  • Travel insurance, in case of repatriation or medical expenses.
  • Copy of airline ticket
  • Driver's license: In order to operate a motorcycle in Sri Lanka, you must obtain an International Driving Permit. With your IDP and valid license from your home country, you can then obtain a Sri Lankan driving license. This license is compulsory.
    • Riders from the US can obtain the permit from any AAA office. Other riders, please check with your government to determine the procedure in your country.

We will need the copy of the first page in order to check the validity, but also of the inner page where the stamps are. We will then need your international permit as soon as possible for the creation of your Sri Lankan permit before departure. We take care of the procedures for obtaining the Sri Lankan permit on your behalf.

  • Visa: Entry to Sri Lanka is subject to the issue of an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). Depending of your nationality, you can apply online via this link.
    • You can also use the services of a specialized organization such as RapideVisa. Your travel expert will give you a promotional code for a 15% discount on your Rapide Visa service.

  • ID picture: We need this to obtain your Sri Lankan driving license. It's a photo of you taken against a white background (like the one you might take to renew your identity card, for example).

Motorcycle Insurance & Damage Deposit

A deposit is required from the riders. The amount is indicated on the Detailed Itinerary of your trip, and differs depending on the destination.

The deposit is made through a bank imprint via our partner Swikly, but it is not debited from your account. At the beginning and end of your motorcycle trip, you will take part in an inspection of your motorcycle together with a representative of Vintage Rides.

The deposit may be retained in the event of damage to the motorcycle, or to cover the insurance excess in the event of an accident.

💡 The price of any repairs and spare parts will be communicated to you for each destination in the travel documents.
